Extraordinary villa with pool and awe-inspiring sea views in Sestri Levante, Liguria.

Situated on a peninsula bordering the Mediterranean Sea, this villa is an architectural gem defined by a futurist design of the international modernism from the late 1930’s (see the notes section below for more information).

The distinctive ‘Villa La Sirenetta’ accommodates up to 14 people in 7 bedrooms (900 m²):
– The entrance leads into a remarkable hall from where a staircase guides you to the first floor. Here you’ll find the living area with a dinner table and a sitting corner with TV and open fireplace, a sunny lounge area with comfy couches, and a kitchen. The living area boasts high ceilings and large windows opening out on the terrace and garden with panorama views over the sea. This floor’s sleeping area includes three bedrooms (two with double beds and one with two single beds), a bathroom with tub, a bathroom with toilet, and a balcony overlooking the sea.
– The second floor features a sleeping area with two bedrooms with double bed, two bathrooms (one with tub, and a smaller one with shower), an office room, and a balcony overlooking the sea.
– On the ground floor are another 2 bedrooms (one with double bed and a smaller one with 2 single beds), and two bathrooms.

The villa is situated in a large private park (20000 m²), set above the cliffs, and surrounded by the sea. Plenty of space to meander through the extensive grounds, discover the various terraces and secluded areas inside the gardens, and enjoy the sights and scents of the Mediterranean. The swimming pool will allow for family moments of refreshment and entertainment for the kids. Further up the park is a guesthouse for additional guests.

Located in Sestri Levante, the Villa La Sirenetta offers a maximum level of privacy, while being within walking distance (250 m) of the town centre. Sestri Levante is a lovely seaside town with many excellent restaurants and Ligurian shops. You’ll have the choice of a large sandy beach ‘Bay of Fairy Tales’ on one side and the romantic beach ‘Bay of Silence’ on the other side of this peninsula village. Nearby along the Italian Riviera you’ll easily get to the famous Cinque Terre villages, the posh Portofino, or the vibrant city of Genova.

Note:
– Air conditioning is available in all the villa’s bedrooms except in one double bedroom on the first floor, and in the two bedrooms on the ground floor. In the guesthouse there is air conditioning in the sitting room and one of the double bedrooms.
– The bedrooms of the villa ground floor and of the guesthouse are of a more basic level.
– The swimming pool is opened seasonally: contact us for the exact dates before booking.
– Domestic animals allowed (upon prior request only).
– Events or parties allowed (upon prior request only): contact us for the venue fee.
– There is no direct access from the villa to the sea; a short walk brings you to the town center and beach of Sestri Levante.
– Did you know that the name ‘La Sirenetta’ or ‘the Little Mermaid’ comes from the famous fairytale (and successive Disney film adaptation) written by Hans Christian Andersen, who is believed to be inspired by this villa.
– The villa has been recognized as a National Monument of Modern Architecture by the Italian Ministry of Culture. The villa dates back to 1938 and was designed by Luigi Carlo Daneri, following the then-current international modern movement of rational and functional lines, inspired by Le Corbusier, but adapted to an Italian contest in Liguria. For this private residence the architect selected an unprecedented mix of concrete and glass blocks to blend in with the Mediterranean clifftop setting.
– Villa La Sirenetta 7 BEDROOMS 14 PAX: Booking of the main villa with 7 bedrooms for up to 14 people. The extra guesthouse would not then be accessible or rented out.
– Villa La Sirenetta 10 BEDROOMS 20 PAX: Booking of the main villa and the guesthouse for a total of 10 bedrooms for up to 20 people.
