Villa La Brisina - Stresa, Lago Maggiore - Casa vacanza

Mooie villa met een fantastisch uitzicht over het meer. De grote tuin rondom de villa biedt veel privacy. De host reageerde snel en de incheck verliep prettig en soepel.

A splendid house, of much charm, with amazing views over Lake Maggiore, and welcome shade behind for eating al fresco.

Très belle villa historique avec vue sublime

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Brisina. The views from the rooms and the pool are unique. We particularly enjoyed the view of Stresa and Verbano in the evening. The view of the lake and the lights were wonderful. Note, that the house is old and has a lot of charm, which you either like or you don\'t. For us, it was a highlight to be able to spend two weeks at Villa Brisina. The garden was very large, which our dog really enjoyed, and the pool was also above average; the children spent many hours in it. We didn\'t know where we wanted to spend most of our time. There were so many beautiful places to choose from. You can see that the owners also live there, the kitchen has everything you need. Great knives and scissors that work, enough crockery and the large cooker was also great for us, as there were four adults and four children. The dog bowls were already there, we felt very welcome. Behind the house there was a table where we spent our evenings with a glass of wine, but unfortunately there were a lot of mosquitoes because of the rain showers, so don\'t forget your mosquito spray. We can\'t understand some of the comments; there were enough towels, and we washed them when they were dirty. There was a washing machine and a tumble dryer in the laundry room, which we were allowed to use. So, everything you need was there. The lower rooms were pleasantly cool and very comfortable to live in. Alberto was always available, but Cleme was the gem of the house for us, always in a good mood and always ready to help. She kept the house in tip-top condition and was open to all questions. We had a small problem due to the heavy rainfall, but it was solved immediately. Our contact with Peter was also pleasant and we can highly recommend Villa Brisina. Please take note of Peter\'s restaurant recommendations; we tried many of them and did not regret it.

Top locatie. Het ontbreekt werkelijk aan niets.

we staied 9+2 for 1 week . perfect vacation . i will reconed for others . thanks a lot

"Overall, our vacation at Villa La Brisina in Stresa was a home run. The villa was charming old world in terms of beauty and authenticity. All six of us (three couples) spent a lot of time on the entry way porch area that overlooked the beautiful Lake Maggiore and the areas beyond. The Villa was definitely designed for old world charm which we all enjoyed. All three couples have been to other Villas in the Tuscany Region as well as in Oía on the island of Santorini, Greece while for one of the three couples, this was their fourth Villa experience. Alberto, the Villa concierge was amazing! He was extremely responsive, had many contacts based upon our needs and helped us with several things: Taxis to and from the airport, retaining a Van that could accommodate six(6) for the week, Restaurant suggestions, locations of interest other than the usual suggestions, i.e. Lake Orta, Vespa Rentals for cruising around Lake Maggiore and last but not least for recommending Chefs Angelica Marabelli and her husband Jharvari who made several wonderful meals for us. On a scale of 1-5, Alberto gets a 10! There are a few items that should be clarified for people looking at this Villa: 1. On the top floor where there are three bedrooms, only one has an ensuite bathroom. Your description states three large bedrooms, but there are only two that would fit that description; 2. We originally had a 4th couple that was planning to join us and we\\\\\\\'re glad they did not as the downstairs basement level is not suitable for vacationers; 3. The kitchen should be reorganized, cleaned and simplified. It looks us several days to find the kitchen towels; 4. The mattress should be replaced in the Master and smaller bedrooms on the top floor; 5. A table and chairs should be placed on the Master Suite\\\\\\\'s balcony; 6. Lastly the towel situation. Provide plenty of towels and ensure your costs are covered. When vacationing, one doesn\\\\\\\'t want to reuse towels/count towels. We cannot imagine anyone taking towels while on vacation? This has never been an issue at any villa we have stayed in, so not sure why it was here. Again overall we really enjoyed ourselves, the mentions above are intended to assist you in the future with your guests who we hope will have as wonderful a time as we did. Thank you to the Villa owners who personally called to ensure we were delighted and we were!" *** OWNER RESPONSE: "We are delighted you enjoyed your stay in our home and thank you for your review. I would like to address the critical points you mention. Firstly, you will of course appreciate that our home is a period, classical villa and as such cannot be compared to a contemporary home or hotel. In answer to your specific points: 1) It is clearly stated in the description on the website that each of the main bedrooms has a well-equipped bathroom for their exclusive use but only the master bedroom is ensuite. As regards the size of the bedrooms, both of the two double bedrooms have the same footprint size and by modern standards, neither is small. Perhaps the fact that the “yellow” bedroom contains more furniture gives the impression that it is smaller. 2) We have never had anyone before say that the basement is ‘not suitable for vacationers’. Again, as stated in the website description, it was formerly an independent staff apartment which has been recently renovated and redecorated. There are two good-sized bedrooms, one twin and one double, both of which share a brand-new (2023) bathroom, as well as a large living room with a comfortable seating area and refectory table. The basement is in fact at ground level, with its own entrance directly onto the garden and views over the lake. 3) As regards the organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen, we hope that our guests accept that the kitchen in someone else's home may be organised differently to how their own kitchen might be arranged. I am sorry that you were unable to find the kitchen towels in the drawers. As to cleanliness, this is always our top priority. Each week, three people clean the house from top to bottom including steam cleaning the kitchen floor so that it is ready for new guests. Again I would repeat that this is a period home and not a contemporary house. 4) We are sorry that you did not find the mattresses to your liking. The mattresses in the Master Bedroom and one of the doubles are new and the third is due to be replaced this winter. All of the mattresses are also covered with a down topper. I am sure you will appreciate that the firmness of a mattress is a matter of preference. 5) There are tables and two chairs on both the main balcony over the front door and on the balcony of the master bedroom so we are surprised that you did not see them. 6) The villa manager Alberto and his team, not the house, provides 3 towels (large, medium, small) per guest per week, and if that is not enough all you needed to do was to ask for more. In addition, they also provide a towel for the swimming pool and most guests find that this is quite sufficient for their needs. " ***

We had a fantastic stay in this villa. It was perfect for our group of 8. The views are second to none, the villa was really well equipped and we felt at home. It is a 20 minute walk downhill into Stresa and longer back as uphill. Taxis are difficult however we found Giseppe who had a large van that could take us all and he was superb, I would recommend this. There are 3 great bedrooms on the first floor and two in the basement which obviously don’t have views. The pool was great a decent size and was needed as it was hot. There were some mosquitoes as near the water so repellent advised. Overall we had a great vacation and would return. The host was very helpful.

An outstanding villa! We loved the experience and felt very well supported in terms of communication and check in. Thank you for your assistance and for the owner for lending us his wonderful villa for a week!

"Don't hesitate to book Villa La Brisina! It is a stunning home with grounds to match and unbelievable views of Lago Maggiore. The photos are great but they cannot capture the true beauty of the setting. Alberto offered many helpful suggestions and responded to texts quickly. We had a minor issue with a faucet one evening and he arranged for a plumber to be there first thing in the morning to fix it. We loved our stay on Lago Maggiore and would absolutely return to Villa Las Brisina."

This is a spectacular property with almost everything to make an enjoyable holiday. The home has been carefully restored and exceptionally maintained. I would say that the last minute notice of various requirements was not helpful, and the covers on all the furnishings were reminiscent of visiting my grandmother…a “don’t touch” sort of message. The resident housekeeper, Clemmie, was excellent. The rental agent Alberto not as helpful.

Pure relaxation! Our family of 9 people had a very pleasant stay. The location with its panoramic view is exceptional. When a house gets very old, it gets charm. But everything has worked. The pool is a real highlight, especially since the lake can only be reached by car. But it is a very quiet location (if the neighbor's dog does not bark).
